Me: “I’m going to be waking you up bright and early tomorrow.”
Child: “What?”
Me: “Yeah. Remember? We’re going to jog on the beach, then do a hula hoop competition, then the hot dog eating contest, then the limbo…”
Child (dismissively): “Goodnight, dad”
