Day 11 (Monday) Croatia

Cetingrad, Croatia

Got up early and noshed a little bread with butter and jam and some instant coffee before heading out to Plitvički Ljeskovac (Plitvice Lakes). We timed our journey to hit a market along the way that would be opening at 6:30 so we could pick up some much needed sunscreen. Seems like every market in the area is a Studenac.

Plitvice Lakes are a series of lakes that are at various heights such that the connective sections that make up the discrepancies in height make magical water flow sections. The water is super clear. Sometimes it looks like we took pictures of dirt, because you can’t tell there’s water in the picture.

Returned to airbnb (Holiday Home Dandelion) for a quick shower and change of clothes.

Lunch at Degenija Restaurant – I ordered a Hugo Spritz and Pjukanci with truffles and Sylvia ordered the goulash, both of which were fantastic.

Went to a larger grocery store (Studenac again) and bought bread, salami, water, wine… the basics for the evening and next morning. Spent the rest of the evening inside as a storm rolled through.

Watched more of The Bear, took a dip in the hot tub, and dried off a bit in the sauna.

Got to bed early. Tomorrow will be another long drive to the other side of the country.
